Making O.T. Evaluations Magical Instead of Maddening
The O.T. Wizard is a standardized evaluation tool for children aged three- 5th grade. The use of a standardized evaluation tool increases accuracy, data, insurance authorization approvals, and ensures that OTPs are creating meaningful intervention planning. When an OTP performs more than one evaluation with the same child, the OT Wizard tracks the progress between evaluations. Nice!
Whether you’re a new or veteran OTP, IEP evaluations can be time consuming to perform and to write up. The O.T. Wizard creates a wonderful OT evaluation report that follows DPI's best practices and IEP language. You can follow our recommended template to get an overview of skill areas and then add on specific skills areas of your choosing. Or you can select just the skill areas that you would like. Either way, the O.T. Wizard will wizard up your report when you click "generate" and just like that ("poof"), your report will be scored, written up, and in your hands.

IEP Motor Screening
Ever wondered what should be included on an IEP motor screening? The O.T. Wizard's template will create all of the items needed for a screening plus areas for the OTP to comment if needed. Then generate the document and ("poof") you are all done.
Clinic based providers often complete preschool screenings as a service for partnering schools or even as a developmental service for state funded preschool programs. Preschool screenings are also a great way to market and expand occupational therapy services, however, parents expect a detailed report in order to determine if they agree with the OTP's screening. The O.T. Wizard has a criterion referenced preschool screening tool for children functioning at a three year old to five year old level. It takes around 10 minutes per child to administer and generates a 3-4 page document written in parent friendly language. OTP's find that they can use the Preschool screening at private preschools, and in clinics to help parents understand if the child may benefit from an OT evaluation. OTP's normally charge parents $15-$50 dollars per screen.
Ever struggled during an evaluation because you find out that you don't have the right template, materials or standardized assessments for the child? The O.T. Wizard is comprehensive. You'll find that you have the option to use many areas to help round out your evaluation. Don't need them all, then just skip it and it won't be part of your data.
Sensory/Gross Motor/Fine motor/Fine motor coordination/Visual motor integration/Visual Perception/Sequencing Praxis /ADL's / Primitive reflexes / Keyboarding / Student Roles/ Developmental Red Flags / Student Interview/Teacher Interview/Parent Interview and Magic W.A.N.D. (Writing Assessment -n-Data).
The O.T. Wizard will help you track your caseload as well as trends. You'll be able to see all past services (evaluations, re-evaluations, IEP Motor screenings, or preschool screenings) on your caseload. You can even duplicate a past service's report and then just complete new data in order to save time.
We need solid quantitative and qualitative data for our reports. Our criterion-referenced tools generate quantitative data that can be analyzed and compared over time. This allows therapists to track progress, identify areas of improvement, and set specific goals for therapy. The data collected also provides a basis for measuring outcomes and demonstrating the effectiveness of occupational therapy services. Student data is saved in the O.T. Wizard's secure HIPAA and FERPA compliant platform.
More Prior Authorization Approvals-less denials
The O.T. Wizard provides objective evidence of a child's functional limitations and needs. This helps to support the justification for occupational therapy services and can aid in obtaining insurance authorization. Insurance companies often require documentation of specific criteria and measurable goals, which can be more easily demonstrated with the use of the O.T. Wizard.
The O.T. Wizard provides a standardized and objective way to assess a child's performance and abilities. This helps to ensure that the evaluation results are accurate and reliable, allowing therapists to make informed decisions about intervention strategies.
In the works: Home Program, Accommodations, Daily Notes, and Goal Generator
The O.T. Wizard will be rolling out the above add on's in the future. The home program, accommodations and goal generator add on's will make suggestions for weakness areas that the therapist can select to be included in the report. The "Wizard My Notes" will be an add on that will allow an OTP to store daily notes on the secure portal and then create data, summaries, quarterly progress reports, therapy visits reports and more.
